Lundin takes Island Offshore PSV pair

Lundin Norway has contracted a pair of Island Offshore LNG-powered platform supply vessels for operations on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Håvard Ulstein, managing director of Island Offshore Management, commented: “Lundin Norway is a customer that makes demands on as well as challenges their suppliers, and we appreciate that. Choosing vessels fuelled on pure LNG is characteristic of Lundin Norway’s environmentally conscious attitude and demonstrate that they take responsibility in reducing harmful emissions.”

The vessels contracted are the Island Contender and Island Crusader, although the terms of the contract were not revealed.

Island Offshore took delivery of the LNG-fueled pair in 2012, built by STX OSV Brevik.
