M2 Subsea secures Gulf of Mexico contract from TransCanada

UK-based M2 Subsea has secured a contract with TransCanada for pipeline-span support on the pipeline installation at the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan gas project in the Gulf of Mexico.

Working with local partner Frontera Resources, M2 Subsea will install grout supports along the southern leg of the pipeline to prevent stress during installation and hydrostatic testing. Mexican flagged multi-purpose support vessel Tehuana will be utilised for the project.

Mike Arnold, CEO of M2 Subsea, commented: “This is a significant milestone for M2 Subsea and allows us to continue to gain further experience in the region. This is our second project with Frontera in the Mexican sector and we’re looking forward to building our relationship through the delivery of safe, sustainable subsea work scopes. Local content is an integral part of our growth plan and we are extremely proud of the strong partnerships we have built with all of our suppliers in Mexico.”
