M3 celebrates nine years

Singapore: On Friday night at Nosh Restaurant and Bar in Singapore’s west, independent offshore broker M3 Marine celebrated its 9th anniversary in style.

Despite the rain, around 250 attended the M3-squared party in a who’s who of the region’s offshore industry, notable guests including Robin Reeves of Marine Assets Corporation, Neil Glenn of Swire Pacific Offshore, Denis Welch of Sherpa Offshore and Venkatraman Sheshashayee the former ceo of Jaya Group.

M3’s founder and ceo Mike Meade delivered a heartfelt speech, saying: "It does not seem like 9 years since I started M3. I can still remember the day that Seacor sent me on my way and I started this journey with a laptop and a logo."

On the growth of the firm, Meade commented, "M3 has become a very versatile, experienced, respected and financially healthy offshore ship brokerage and marine consultancy. From our humble beginnings in 2005 we now have around 30 staff and two distinctly successful business lines in our offices in One Commonwealth. From a meagre and humble start in 2005 M3 will turn over some US$7m this year. This is a business without physical assets so that turnover is based on pure service, with the tangible assets being the people that generate that revenue.” [14/07/14]
