Maersk Drilling awarded Shell semi-sub contract in Trinidad

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a contract by Shell’s BG International for work offshore Trinidad and Tobago for the semi-submersible rig Maersk Developer.

The two-well development project , with five additional one-well options, is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2020. Estimated duration is 171 days and the value of the contract is $39m including mobilisation fees. Maersk Developer is currently operating offshore Mexico.

Morten Kelstrup, COO of Maersk Drilling, commented: “We are very pleased to be headed back to Trinidad to build on the successful work Mærsk Developer previously performed for Shell there.”

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
