Maersk Drilling jackup extended by Equinor

Norwegian energy giant Equinor has exercised two two-month options for Maersk Drilling jackup rig Maersk Intrepid.

The extensions see the 2014-built rig contracted to Equinor through to the end of February 2020, with two further options of two months available.

In the four-month extension period, Maersk Intrepid will be utilised for accommodation activities at the Martin Linge field on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Morten Kelstrup, CCIO of Maersk Drilling, commented: “We appreciate the continued opportunity to contribute to the expected opening of production on Martin Linge in 2020. It’s great to be able to continue our long-standing cooperation with Equinor with this renewed commitment.”
