Maersk Drilling signs alliance with Seapulse for 12-well programme

Maersk Drilling and Seapulse have signed an alliance agreement which will see Maersk Drilling provide drilling rigs and a range of other services for a 12-well offshore drilling programme.

The programme is scheduled to commence mid-next year and has an expected duration of 490 days.

Maersk Drilling says the work spans shallow water and deepwater wells in several regions and will require a combination of its jack-ups, semi-submersibles, and drillships.

“This alliance is a key example of a fully integrated service delivery model aimed at eliminating inefficiencies by aligning incentives and removing complexity across the entire value chain. This allows Maersk Drilling to leverage our proven track record of delivering wells safely and efficiently – thereby mitigating operator cost risk whilst sharing in the commercial upside of the programme. The ambitious global drilling programme will utilise Maersk Drilling’s young and versatile fleet of drilling rigs to explore an extensive prospect portfolio,” commented Jørn Madsen, CEO of Maersk Drilling.
