Maersk Tankers looks to offload LR2 pair as newbuilds near delivery

Having pocketed $60m from the sale of aframax pair Maersk Jeddah and Maersk Jamnagar to Performance Shipping, Maersk Tankers has put another two vessels up for sale.

Brokers are circulating LR2 pair Maersk Princess and Maersk Phoenix, both built in 2005 at DSIC Dalian. No indicative price has been given for the sale, with VesselsValue placing a market value on the tankers at $14.49m and $14.24m.

Maersk Tankers currently has 78 vessels in its fleet, of which ten are LR2. It has an additional 12 vessels on order, 10 of which are LR2s under construction at DSIC, with deliveries set to commence imminently.
