Magseis completes acquisition of Fairfield Seismic Technologies

Norwegian seismic specialist Magseis has completed the $233m acquisition of Fairfield Seismic Technologies from Fairfield Geotechnologies.

The company has changed its name to Magseis Fairfield, effective immediately.

Fairfield Seismic Technologies is a leading provider of marine ocean bottom nodal seismic systems, and the acquisition includes Fairfield’s data acquisition, nodal and system sale & rental activities including all shares in Fairfield’s wholly owned UK subsidiary WGP Group.

Chuck Davison takes over as the new chairman of the enlarged company, replacing Jan Pihl Grimnes.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
