Malaysia eyes slice of Singapore’s arbitration business

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia is looking to take a slice of arbitration business away from neighbour, Singapore. New premises for the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) have just been unveiled.

On top of that, Malaysia has just announced visa and work permit exemptions for foreign arbitrators and lawyers appearing in arbitrations.

The government has made plain it is keen to compete with Singapore for this lucrative business.  [10/11/14]
