Cairo: In a reshuffle of top management at containerline, ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, Aharon Fogel has become executive chairman of the board of directors as of today. Meanwhile, container shipping veteran, Flemming Jacobs replaces Nir Epstein on the board.
Fogel’s chairmanship follows on from a vote last month. Fogel joins Zim following a diverse career in both the public and private sectors. Over the years he has held a number of senior positions, including Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Finance, Chairman of NESS Technologies, Chairman of Migdal Insurance and Chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Bank of Israel.
Jacobs, meanwhile, has a 54-year history in the shipping sector, starting his career with AP Moller back in 1960. His career also saw him head up Singapore’s Neptune Orient Lines for four years.
