Manila seeks bidders for Davao port development

Manila: The transportation department will roll out a public-private partnership (PPP) program this month for a port upgrade in the far south of the country.

Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said his department is seeking to publish an invitation to bid for the P18.99bn Davao Sasa Port modernisation project.

The project includes modernising the port’s existing infrastructure and construction of new facilities such as quayside, container yards, warehouses, as well as expansion of its backup area and the installation of cranes. The project will have a 35- to 40-year term.  [03/12/14]
