Maritime CEO Forum: The state of the world economy

Every Maritime CEO Forum always kicks off with a quick fire 30-minute Q&A where a top shipping analyst is put on the hot spot to give his or her view on the markets and to set the scene for the later panels featuring the world’s top shipowners.

In Monaco last week, it was the turn of Arrow Shipbroking’s head of research, Burak Cetinok, to be grilled.

Cetinok gave his views on a diverse range of subjects with his thoughts set to appear in the next issue of Maritime CEO magazine out next month.

Watch below as Cetinok opens proceedings, giving the exclusive gathering his take on the state of the world economy.

While the global economy might be slowing down and there are plenty of alarm bells going off, Cetinok argued that the world was still growing at a healthy pace with GDP growth only slightly below the long term average.

The Maritime CEO Forum in Monaco was sponsored by Arrow Shipbroking, Cambridge Academy of Transport, C Transport Maritime, Dualog, Liberian Registry, Lloyd’s Register, Marlink, PwC, and SeaQuest.
