Hear what BIMCO’s chief shipping analyst has to say on the markets in the latest instalment of Splash TV. Peter Sand, who has been with the global shipowner association since 2009, opened last week’s Maritime CEO Forum in Singapore with a quick-fire half hour session on the shipping markets.
Sand picked out dry bulk followed by containers as the sectors with the best prospects in 2018. “It is all about managing the supply side,” Sand warned the many shipowners attending the event at the famous Fullerton Hotel. Sand remained cautious on prospects for tankers despite China continuing to import ever greater volumes of crude.
The by-invite-only Maritime CEO Forum is an exclusive shipowner gathering that takes place twice a year. The next event is scheduled for October 2 in Hong Kong.
