MC Seamax acquires post-panamax containership from Reederei NSB

Shipping investment management firm MC Seamax is said to have acquired a 8,084teu post-panamax containership  Ever Charming from German owner Reederei NSB.

According to London-based Seasure Shipbroking, the 12-year-old vessel was sold at a price of $22m.

Seamax was founded in 2012 by former GE Capital executives who ran GE’s shipping and transportation business. The company currently manages the MC-Seamax Shipping Opportunities Fund LP, a closed-end private equity investment fund focused on containerships.

Seamax operates a fleet of 10 post-panamax containerships with total capacity of over 80,000 teu.
