McDermott awarded offshore contract by Mexico’s Pemex

Houston: McDermott International announced it had been awarded an offshore contract by Mexico’s state-run oil company Pemex for provision and installation of the Ayatsil-C replacement jacket and associated deck installation.

It is the fourth contract McDermott has earned for the Ayatsil field.

The field, in the Bay of Campeche, is the largest discovery for Pemex to date. Pemex has said it plans to develop Ayatsil field with as many as four platforms all tied to a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

McDermott expects to use its in-house engineering and procurement experts, Altamira fabrication yard in Mexico and completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016.

New York listed McDermott has more than 90 years of oil exploration and production expertise including decades offshore.

Among its services it provides engineering, procuring, and construction and installation expertise for upstream developments worldwide.
