McDermott’s shift from Singapore to KL to be completed by June

The relocation of Houston-based offshore contractor McDermott International from Singapore to Malaysia is expected to be completed by June.

McDermott joins a number of other international oil-related firms, such as Technip and Subsea 7, relocating from expensive Singapore to cheaper climes next door in Malaysia, with one spokesperson for the company telling local media that Kuala Lumpur is increasingly recognised as a regional hub for the oil and gas industry.
