Meghna takes another supramax

Vintage supramax specialist Meghna Group continues to buy. Shortly after the Chittagong-headquartered bulker specialist was registered buying two supramaxes, it has now been linked to yet another ship.

This time it’s said to be taking a ship from Greek owner Kassian Maritime who has been circulating the 56,000 dwt Marjatta P for sale for a few months. The Marjatta P in the end fetched $11.95m.

Meghna – a diverse Bangladeshi has two shipowning arms, one wet and one dry has been expanding its fleet to serve the country’s growing need for energ. In 2016 the Meghna Group bulker division United Shipping was listed as buying four elderly supramaxes.
