Mercator fixes kamsarmax to Clearlake

Athens: Gunvor subsidiary Clearlake (Singapore) has timechartered a kamsarmax owned by Mercator Lines’ Singapore division for a 12- to 16-month period.

The Sri Prem Veena (82,459 dwt, built 2007) was fixed at $7,050 per day.

“This hire rate represents a healthy premium of 23% over 4 TC Baltic Panamax spot index rate, which is currently at $5,735 per day,” Mercator Lines (Singapore) said in an exchange filing today.

The shipowner, which is part of India-based Mercator International, expects the timecharter to generate gross revenue of up to $3.4m over the maximum 16-month period of the timecharter.
