Mercator sells elderly MR tanker

Indian owner Mercator has announced the sale of its 1993-built MR2 tanker Vedika Prem.

The vessel was sold for Rs28.54 crore ($4.1m) and it is believed it will be scrapped in Bangladesh.

Mercator will use the proceeds from the sale, which reduces its fleet to five vessels, to meet its debt obligations.
