Mike Webber returns with his own research firm

One of shipping’s best known analysts is back with his own firm. Mike Webber, who resigned from Wells Fargo Securities in July, has launched Webber Research & Advisory, an independent investment research firm focused on global export infrastructure.

Webber became well known this decade by ranking US-listed shipping firms by their corporate governance, something shipping has been slow to adopt.

Webber is joined in the new advisory by Greg Wasikowski, a colleague from Wells Fargo, and Peiwu Tsung, who used to be with Deutsche Bank.

Webber Research launches in a year where many investment banks have dropped shipping coverage following a long period of anaemic growth in the sector.
