MISC tendering for up to eight LNG carriers

Kuala Lumpur: Greek broker Golden Destiny reports that Malaysia's state-owned shipowner MISC has issued a tender to shipbuilders for the construction of a minimum of four LNG carrier newbuildings, a figure that could rise to eight ships.

Some of the new ships will serve parent company Petronas’ new LNG production projects at Kanowit gas fields off Bintulu.  
Traditionally MISC orders in Korea predominantly at Samsung and Daewoo.  [27/02/13]
