Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA), US-based subsidiary of the Japanese industrial giant MHI, has opened an office in Houston, Texas, for its Oil and Gas division, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The office will specialize in developing machinery such as compressors and gas turbines, to be linked with firms in the fields of drilling, refining and liquefied natural gas (LNG), much of it with offshore implications.
MHIA identified floating production as one of the potential growth areas.
In May 2016 MHIA moved its headquarters to Houston. It has a big presence in the US with offices and factories in 30 states and around 7,300 employees.
