Jakarta: Japan’s Mitsui & Co has been selected to build, finance and operate the first container terminal at a new port in the Indonesian capital, according to Dow Jones.

The new port will be part of the Pelabuhan New Priok Kalibaru Port.

"The agreement with Mitsui will ensure that starting September 2014, the first ship will dock at the first container terminal at the NewPriok Kalibaru Port," Yan Budi Santoso, spokesman for state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II, said in a statement.
Pelindo II will choose partners to develop two more container terminals and two fuel terminals at the new seaport within the next nine months, he added.  [04/03/13]
