MMA Offshore wins Woodside Energy contract

Australian offshore services company MMA Offshore has been awarded a contract by Woodside Energy for the provision of three vessels for work off North West Australia.
The contract, worth around A$50m ($35.3m), will see the three vessels operating at Woodside’s Northwest Shelf, Pluto and AusOil production assets. The three vessels are made up of anchor handling turf supply vessels Mermaid Sound and Mermaid Strait and platform supply vessel Mermaid Leeuwin.
Jeff Weber, MMA Offshore’s managing director, commented: “The significance of the contract in the current competitive market cannot be overstated. There is enormous pressure on the offshore marine industry to achieve sustainable cost positions without compromising quality operations.”
The contract is for a firm period with a number of options. MMA says that if all options are exercised, the value of the deal will increase to around A$110m ($77.6m) in total.
