Modec confirmed as buyer of Euronav VLCC

Japanese FPSO operator Modec has been confirmed to be the buyer of Euronav’s 2005-built VLCC VK Eddie.

Euronav announced the sale of the vessel last week, and shipbroking sources report that Modec bought the vessel for $38m to be converted into an FPSO.

Modec currently operates a fleet of 25 vessels, made up of five tankers and 20 floating units.
