MOL car carrier leaks oil in LA

Mitsui OSK Lines could face a large fine from authorities in the US. Yesterday evening, one of its car carriers, Istra Ace, leaked an unknown amount of oil into Los Angeles harbour.

Booms were quickly deployed around the vessel and a local clean up company called in.

The US has among the harshest fines in place for spills.
