MOL takes product tanker

In an all Japanese deal Shoei Kisen, the shipowing sister firm of Imabari Shipbuilding, has sold a nine-year-old product tanker to Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

MOL is paying in the high $13ms, brokers suggest, for the 47,999 dwt Seto Express. The price for the Iwagi Zosen built vessel was described by brokers as firm.

MOL has been making a number of changes to its products division this year, offloading its eldest tonnage while keeping an eye out for available secondhand Japanese tonnage.
