MOL to boost Singapore presence

Singapore: Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines, one of the world’s largest shipping lines, with a fleet of around 900 vessels, has just announced its mid-term management plan through to 2020 with Singapore likely to play a starring role in the line’s future.

In January 2013, MOL transferred its dry bulkers to Singapore, and since then MOL has looked at adding other parts of its diverse fleet to the Lion Republic. The new plan, dubbed Steer for 2020, aims to bolster business away from Tokyo to important shipping hubs, with Singapore referenced twice in the plan.  [31/03/14]
