Monadelphous scores $144m Shell FLNG deal

Australian engineering company Monadelphous has been awarded a long term maintenance and modifications services contract associated with Shell Australia’s Prelude FLNG project, worth more than $200m ($143.6m).

Monadelphous will provide maintenance, modifications and turnaround services to the LNG process plant, support utilities, hull and other infrastructure including accommodation and control rooms. The contract is located in the Browse Basin, off Western Australia, and includes delivery of fabrication services from Darwin.

Rob Velletri, managing director of Monadelphous, commented: “We are especially pleased to be selected by Shell Australia as a major service provider for the Prelude FLNG facility. Our long-term goal is to become the partner of choice in the provision of FLNG services.”

The deal is for an initial period of seven years with a further two 2-year extension options.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
