More work for PGS in the Mediterranean

Norwegian offshore seismic acquisition specialist PGS has won a new 3D survey contract in the Mediterranean region.

The 2017-built Titan-class vessel Ramform Hyperion is expected to return to the region late third quarter for a campaign of approximately 70 days.

PGS has built a solid acquisition campaign in the Mediterranean through the winter season and most recently with a survey wrapped up in April.

“We are very pleased with this contract award, which improves our visibility into the fourth quarter. There is increasing exploration interest in the Mediterranean following recent discoveries in this prolific gas province, and this award builds on our successful campaign from the previous season,” remarked Rune Olav Pedersen, president and CEO of PGS.

The contract value with an international energy major has not been disclosed, but as per PGS’ Oslo filing practice, the deal is worth $10m or more.
