Moroccan port operator lists

The Moroccan government has raised $197m by selling a 40% stake in state-owned port operator Marsa Maroc.

Marsa Maroc was established in 2006 and manages terminals at nine Moroccan ports. It is keen to expand its Casablanca terminal as well as investing in new facilities across north Africa.

Morocco is set to become an increasingly important boxline destination with news at the end of March that APM Terminals will build a new $858m transhipment terminal in Tangier in what will become Africa’s first automated terminal.
