MSC takes vintage Claus Peter Offen boxship for just $4.3m

MSC has bought the 2,169 teu Santa Francesca from German owner Claus Peter Offen (CPO) for $4.3m.

The 1998-built vessel has been renamed MSC Masha 3 and is being phased in at Antwerp shortly into the carrier’s Northwest Europe – Iberia – Morocco weekly service, according to Alphaliner.

The MSC Masha 3 joins a sister vessel in the MSC fleet, the MSC Giannina, which MSC purchased from CPO in April 2016.
