MultiClient Geophysical acquires US East Coast library from Polaris

Norwegian marine seismic data provider MultiClient Geophysical (MCG) has acquired from Houston-based Polaris E&E Services their post stack reprocessed Atlantic Margin seismic 2D data.

MCG said that the Atlantic Margin data consists of 166,000 km of reprocessed “open file” vintage 2D seismic data, covering the whole East Coast margin of the United States.

Tom Wolden, CEO of MultiClient Geophysical, commented: “We are pleased to announce that we can add this seismic 2D data base to our existing library. The data will also enable MCG to be in a better position to identify new areas for potential future seismic projects along the East Coast of US.”

MCG will pay Polaris for the transaction via a revenue share of futures sales.
