Myanmar Offshore Supply Base nears government approval

Myanmar Offshore Supply Base (MOSB) is expected to be granted approval by Myanmar’s Investment Commission to develop an offshore supply base at Mawlamyine, in Mon State, according to local reports.

The project will be built on 800 acres of land, positioned on Myanmar’s South East coast with direct access to fields in the Andaman Sea. The base will focus on supporting offshore drilling including vessel bunkering, emergency services and supply storage.

Andre Wheeler, CEO of Asia Pacific Connex and Splash opinion writer, has been assisting MOSB in the process and has been appointed the agent for those looking to use the facility. Commenting on the project today, Wheeler said: “A number of activities have taken place in terms of design and it expected that construction will start in August.”

The land has been secured for a term of 70 years.
