Shanghai: Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS) has signed a newbuilding contract with United European Car Carriers (UECC) to construct two dual-fuel LNG pure car and truck carriers (PCTC).
The PCTCs will be able to carry around 3,800 cars, and are due for delivery in the second half of 2016.
NACKS is the first shipbuilder in China to deliver large-sized car carriers, and the yard expects the order from UECC to help further its ambitions in this segment. [07/03/14]
