Nakilat takes over management of its first LNG vessel

Doha: Qatari shipowner Nakilat has taken over the full ship management and operations of its first LNG vessel, the QFlex Al Hamla, from OSG Ship Management. Three other vessels in the next two months are also set to be taken under Nakilat’s wing.

Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada, the minister of energy and industry and chairman of Nakilat, commented:  “At Nakilat, we hold great pride in our mission and vision of being the world’s leading owner and operator of vessels for the transportation of liquefied natural gas and associated products”.

Nakilat’s managing director Abdullah Fadhalah Al Sulaiti said: “We have invested heavily on building and developing the infrastructure and foundation at Nakilat. The decision to take over the operation is part of a long-term strategic decision.”  [02/06/14]
