Nanhui Port’s second phase development on the cards

Shanghai: Nanhui Port, a new breakbulk port which was opened in the second half of 2013, is planning for the second phase of development. The port currently has nine berths with a designated annual capacity of 2.5m tonnes.
 
“We are planning a 360,000 sq m of yard space in the second phase development of the port, a railway will also connect the port with the national railway network, moreover, an automobile testing line will be installed to offer on-site automobile inspection services to our customers,” an official from Nanhui Port told SinoShip News at the annual Breakbulk China event. The official also said that windpower equipment shipping is gaining momentum at the port with Siemens setting up a base at the Shanghai Lingang Industrial Area. [12/03/14]
