Navigare Capital Partners snaps up its first aframax

Navigare Capital Partners has added its fourth vessel in 10 months. One of Navigare’s funds has bought an aframax tanker, the five-year old, 115,000 dwt Nissos Serifos from Greek outfit Kyklades Maritime.

The ship is the third tanker bought Navigare Capital Partners. It entered the MR sector in April with its first ship purchases when it added two of the last four MR tankers remaining in Italy’s LGR di Navigazione fleet list.

Navigare is an investment company established to invest in maritime assets. It recently spent around $200m on container vessels and added its first supramax.

The cash rich company is backed by two Danish pension funds, Pension Danmark and Danica, who have joined a growing number of companies looking to take advantage of traditionally low asset prices.
