Ness, Risan & Partners acquires ultramax in partnership with Empros Lines

Norwegian investment firm Ness, Risan & Partners has announced the acquisition and delivery of a 2011-built 61,000 dwt ultramax bulker.

NRP says that the vessel transaction was completed together with Greece’s Empros Lines, who will manage the vessel commercially, while V.Ships Greece has been appointed technical manager of the vessel.

NRP did not provide any further information on the deal, or reveal the identity of the vessel. It currently owns a fleet of eight vessels, made up of five bulkers and three containerships, and its maritime investments include owning the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center in Ålesund.

Empros owns a fleet of ten bulkers, of which four are ultramaxes.
