New African client for Nam Cheong

Singapore: Malaysia’s Nam Cheong has won a trio of OSV orders, including new clients in West Africa.

The Singapore-listed shipyard won orders for one Platform Supply Vessel and two Anchor Handling Towing Supply vessels worth a total of US$43.81m.

Sale of the 3,000 dwt PSV represents penetration of a new market for Nam Cheong, as the vessel was sold to a new customer – an emerging offshore marine services and construction company based in West Africa.

Leong Seng Keat, Nam Cheong’s Executive Director, said: “Securing the contract from our new West African customer has effectively expanded our geographical market. This new customer services the oil and gas industries in one of the oil-rich nations in the West African region.”  [23/08/12]
