New CEO for Adani Ports and SEZ

India’s Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has appointed Karan Adani to the role of CEO effective January 1.

Adani has been in the executive director role since 2009 and is the son of chairman Gautam Adani. He replaces Sudipta Bhattacharya who has resigned from the position to move to the United States and take up the role of CEO for North America.

In a statement APSEZ said that Adani “aims to build the group’s identity around an integrated logistics model, backed by his sound understanding of new processes, systems and macro-economics issues.”

APSEZ shares finished today up 1.47% on the back of the news.
