New CEO for Polarcus as Starr departs

Dubai-based seismic vessel owner Polacus has appointed Duncan Eley as its new chief executive officer, replacing Rod Starr who has resigned from the company.

Eley has been promoted from the COO role and has been with Polarcus since 2009. He takes over from Starr with immediate effect.

Peter Rigg, chairman of Polarcus, commented: “Rod has made a significant and transforming contribution to the company. He has created an executive team exceptionally well-qualified to continue the company’s development. Duncan has been responsible for many areas of strength within the company and is a natural successor.”

Starr joined Polarcus in February 2015 and the company said his departure was following the “completion of a two year period of restructuring, refinancing and reorganisation.” Starr will stay on until the second quarter of 2017 to work with the executive management team as part of the transition.
