New chairman, president and CEO for MISC in 2015

Kuala Lumpur: Yee Yang Chien will be MISC’s new president and CEO as of January 1, 2015.

The Malaysian state shipping company’s current president and CEO, YBhg. Datuk Nasarudin Md Idris, will be retiring on December 31 this year, having held the position since June 2010. He will remain on the MISC board as a non-independent non-executive director effective from January 1 next year.

Yee Yang Chien has been MISC’s COO since July 1, 2013. Before that, he was the company’s vice-president, corporate planning and development, since April 2008. As well as being president and CEO, Yee Yang Chien will also be appointed as the non-independent non-executive director of MISC from next year.

YBhg Dato’ Ab. Halim bin Mohyiddin will become independent non-executive director and the new chairman of MISC as of January 15, 2015.

He replaces YBhg Datuk Manharlal Ratilal, who will remain on the board of MISC as non-independent non-executive director, the Malaysia-listed company said today.

YBhg Dato’ Ab.  Halim joins MISC from KPMG/KPMG Desa Megat & Co, where he has worked since 1977. Before retiring on October 1, 2001, he was the partner in charge of the Assurance and Financial Advisory Services divisions and was also responsible for the secured e-commerce practice of the firm.
