New Egyptian line proposed

Cairo: Egypt is looking at creating another state-run maritime company. The aim of the shipping line will be to carry passengersm, livestock as well as general cargo. It will also be involved in port agency. The aim is to get some private sector involvement in the company. An initial outlay of around $35m is to be set aside to charter in two passenger ships, two roros and a livestock carrier with more to follow.  [01/09/13]
