New LNG containment system trialled in Xiamen

Shanghai: Testing has been carried out at a Chinese shipyard on a new LNG containment system. The LNT A-Box is the first ever IMO A type containment system and its mock test was carried out at Xiamen Shipyard with classification societies DNV GL, BV and ABS in attendance.

LNG New Technologies developed the system which consists of an IMO independent tank type A placed in an insulated hold space. “It combines proven technologies in a new robust, safe and cost effective configuration,” the Norwegian company said in a release.  [30/01/14]
