New shipmanagement firm enters Shanghai FTZ

Shanghai: Asia Marine Shanghai, a ship-managing joint venture between Germany's NSB Group and Shanghai Nandou Shipmanagement, has registered in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

Asia Marine Shanghai mainly offers ship management, crew management and shipping agency services.

The company is currently managing two vessels, with more than five vessels planned under its management in 2015, according to Longgen Wang, general manager of Asia Marine Shanghai.

As of now three wholly foreign-owned ship management companies have registered in the FTZ since September 2013 when the government allowed the entry of international shipmanagement companies.

Anglo-Eastern Ship Management and V Ships are also showing interest to enter the FTZ. [20/11/14]
