NewLead’s Zolotas quits

Facing a barrage of court cases NewLead Holdings boss Michail Zolotas has resigned from his role as chairman, president and ceo of the company. He remains the principal shareholder of NewLead. Zolatas’s cousin Anna Zolata, who has been with the company for seven years, takes on the leadership roles.

Zolota said in a statement today: “NewLead will continue to reinforce its ability to operate in today’s challenging shipping market conditions.”

NewLead has been embroiled in a number of court cases. Last week Zolatas was questioned in Athens after an international arrest warrant was sent through over his involvement with a now defunct Cypriot bank.
