Nine missing following ship sinking

Shanghai: Japanese coast guard rescuers were searching Wednesday for nine people believed missing after a 238 ton Chinese ship sank off Japan's western coast.

The small Chinese-registered ship Lurongyu 2859 sank Tuesday in the Sea of Japan off the coast of Shimane prefecture in western Japan. Five crewmembers have been rescued so far. [01/10/14]
