Ningbo Marine enters tanker sector with AVIC Dingheng order

Chinese dry bulk operator Ningbo Marine has chosen AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding as the preferred yard for its newbuild project of a 10,000 dwt product tanker.

According to the tender document, seen by Splash, the price for the vessel is RMB110m ($15.8m) and construction is expected to be completed in 19 months.

The order will mark Ningbo Marine’s entry into the tanker market. According to VesselsValue, the company currently operates a fleet of 36 vessels comprising of 26 bulkers and 10 feedermax boxships.
