Noble cold stacks semi-submersible rig

US offshore driller Noble Corporation has cold stacked another semi-submersible rig amid the depression in the offshore oil and gas sector.

According to the company’s latest fleet status report, semi-submersible rig  Noble Jim Day has been cold stacked. In the meantime, the company is preparing to cold stack another semisubmersible rig Noble Dave Beard.

Noble had previously warned that further fleet reductions or stacking look to be coming through the year. “Ongoing cost control measures are likely to result in further reductions in 2016,” said David Williams, chairman, president and ceo of Noble Corporation.
